Get ready to learn Tatting!
Welcome to my tatting podcast where I will share information about the NOT ”lost art” of tatting or making knotted lace from thread. This wonderful craft has gained popularity in recent years because the internet has brought tatters together online, by IM, email lists and web pages.
Here is a list of what you will need to get started: two different solid colors of size 10 crochet thread, scissors, a tatting shuttle, and a small crochet hook if your shuttle does not have a hook or a point on it. I recommend purchasing my book, Easy Tatting as I will refer to it in these lessons.
My first book, Easy Tatting, ©1999 - Dover Publishing is a good “first tatting book” to learn tatting. It can be purchased from my Tatting Bookstore, along with other tatting and lacemaking books that I recommend. You may find tatting friends and mentors online by visiting the online tatting class. Information about the online tatting class may be found at http://georgiaseitz.com/ where the lessons are posted and information about special events, books, and supplies.
Celtic Tatting – Knots and Patterns ©2004 Rozella Linden $11.95, Celtic Tatting a Design Journey $25.95, and (NEW) Tatted Butterfly Garden $15.00 booklet / $20.00 Large Print are also available in my Tatting Bookstore.
